BIO
Alex Gross is an undergraduate student at Yale University and the Artistic Director of Valley Road Theatre Company.
He most recently directed Sheffield Scientific, the first immersive theatre production at Yale University, declared "A rousing success" by The Yale Herald and "Reason to celebrate" by No Proscenium. This summer he is directing Lineage at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and GILGAMESH SPACE MAN in Larchmont, NY.
In September 2022, Alex founded Valley Road Theatre Company to direct, produce, and design independent student productions. Early productions include The Lieutenant of Inishmore and The Cherry Orchard. Valley Road Theatre Company has since shifted to focus on immersive theatre productions. Recent projects include Machinal by Lucy Treadwell, Crypt from Edgar Allan Poe's The Tell-Tale Heart, No Darkness from Gogol's The Overcoat and Orwell's 1984, Winesburg from Winesburg, Ohio by Sherwood Anderson, and Sheffield Scientific.
Additional directing experience includes The Call of Cthulhu at the Westchester Sandbox Theatre for their Summer Repertory Theatre program and Legally Blonde at Mamaroneck High School.
As an intern, Alex is currently working with Artemis Is Burning on The Death of Rasputin and has past experience with Third Rail Projects, Hendel Productions, Classic Stage Company, and Cherry Picking Theatre Festival.
At Yale, Alex is the Business Manager of the musical improv group Just Add Water, and is a member of the Yale Mock Trial Association and the Yale Dramatic Association.
